TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is warning folks that they may see black bears in unexpected areas as they grow up and leave their mothers.
Now, the department is rolling out a tool to help you track any bear sightings.
The FWC interactive public bear map tracks and reports calls and sightings of bears in Florida. The yellow dots are recent bear calls, and the red squares are bears that have recently been handled.
The agency is also reminding people to secure food and trash, keep an eye out on the roads, and practice pet safety, especially with dogs.
