PORT ST. LUCIE ── Freedomfest is going to look a little bit different this July 4.

In addition to the spectacular fireworks display the patriotic celebration is known for, the city is adding a high-tech drone show to close out this year’s 250th birthday party.

Choreographed by Luna Lite Drone Show technologies, a global leader in drone shows, serving the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Max (the Mighty Max) Weinberg is headlining the entertainment lineup. Considered one of the most powerful drummers in music, Weinberg is the longtime drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and former musical director for “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.”

In jukebox fashion, Weinberg allows the audience to choose his setlist for the evening. Concert goers become DJs at this interactive show, where fans choose their favorite song from a menu of about 300 classic rock songs for Weinberg and his bandmates to interpret.

Opening for Weinberg is Girlfriend Material, a high-energy, South Florida based rock band, who puts a fresh, crowd-pleasing spin on classics from The Beatles and Tom Petty to OutKast and TLC. Girlfriend Material is scheduled to take the stage at 5:30 p.m.

This year the VIP experience has been upgraded and moved into a climate-controlled tent. Seating is limited and features premium viewing of the concerts, drone show and fireworks, family-friendly activities, priority parking, two complimentary beverages, private restroom, and a cash bar.

VIP tickets are limited. Admission is $75 for adults and $35 for children ages 3–12; children younger than three are free. Taxes and fees included.

Weinberg is also hosting a Meet & Greet after the fireworks. The meeting, which costs $250 per person, includes a photo opportunity with the legendary drummer and up to two items signed. To purchase a Meet & Greet, email Tour Manager Mark Stein at kick10mark@gmail.com.
