Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority will give free park-and-ride services for the St. Pete Pride Parade on Saturday, June 27. This happens through its Passenger Princess Park & Ride campaign. The service runs from 11 a.m. to midnight and covers free rides on the SunRunner, Central Ave Trolley, and Route 5 buses.
Two parking spots will open for parade-goers. St. Pete High School at 2501 5th Ave. N. will help those in east and central St. Pete. Route 5 brings riders to downtown. Pasadena Community Church at 220 70th St. S. will help those in West St. Pete, with the SunRunner taking passengers to and from this spot.
“We are proud to offer a free park and ride to the Parade,” said Brad Miller, Chief Executive Officer of PSTA, according to I Love the Burg. “How ever people choose to celebrate, PSTA will take you there!”
The School Board of Pinellas County, Florida is neither sponsoring nor affiliated with this event. All routes will run normal service hours for Saturday.
The transit authority has made this service available through its Passenger Princess Park & Ride program. Shuttles will bring attendees to the festivities in downtown St. Pete at no cost.
PSTA also runs a UPASS program. It gives free fixed-route services for Pinellas County School District, USF St. Pete, and SPC students throughout the summer. This program operates separately from the parade shuttle service.
The free transportation aims to make access to the parade easier for attendees. No reservations or advance registration are needed to use the park-and-ride service.
Route information is available on the PSTA website. The transit system will provide regular Saturday service on all routes operating that day.
