The acclaimed Baltimore-based hardcore band Turnstile is set to perform at England Brothers Park in Pinellas Park on September 19th. Located at 5010 Dave McKay Way, the venue usually hosts community events and picnics, making the arrival of an artist of Turnstile’s caliber a huge milestone for the local area. They will be coming on the back of performing at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta the day before.
Florida’s indie music fans often have a hard time catching their favorite artists without having to travel to cities like New York, Atlanta, and LA. As Florida’s music scene is slowly gaining more recognition, bringing in bands such as Turnstile is a huge deal. With Jannus Live traditionally serving as St. Pete’s main music venue for bands of Turnstile’s renown, this may encourage other artists to branch out and play all around the city because we have a lot to offer.
Never Enough Tour Pt. 2
Formed in 2010, Turnstile has reached new heights with the release of their latest album, ‘Never Enough’. The band supported the project with a 14-song visual album. Initially released in select theaters last June, the visual experience was designed for large screens and powerful sound systems to fully immerse the audience rather than simply listening at home.
The screening at Sun-ray Cinema, our local indie theater, was a transformative experience that solidified my status as a lifelong fan!
Tickets for the upcoming concert entered presale on June 25th, with general public sales commencing on Friday, June 26th. For the St. Petersburg date, the lineup features Hatebreed and Cold World as openers. Tickets will be available here starting the 26th.
Consistent with the festival-style approach of their first ‘Never Enough’ tour, the roster is a diverse collection of genres, featuring artists such as Vince Staples, Thundercat, Porches, Clipse, and Julie. This follows the success of last year’s tour, which included eclectic performers like Blood Orange, Jane Remover, and Amyl and the Sniffers.
This tour is supporting a greater cause, with its profits going towards minorities and people in need. $1 from every ticket sold supports local organizations in each tour city working across youth services, mental health, immigrant support, and community care.
