TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Local animal rescue Champs Chance is getting a helping paw amid a lengthy zoning violation battle with Gadsden County.
Azalea Gardens Memory Care hosted “Paws With a Purpose” to raise money for the animal rescue on Thursday.

The afternoon brought residents, families and community members together to meet some of the dogs at Champs Chance while creating handmade blankets, toys and treats for dogs waiting to find their forever homes.
Champs Chance owner Alicia Bopp says the community support has really helped them through this uncertain time.
“It’s heartwarming, it’s really been rough on us, really rough, so to have any kind of community support has been, really has lifted all of our spirits. We’re all worried about the future and what we are going to do, so to have anyone come forward to help us has been a blessing,” Bopp said.
Thursday’s event raised over $4,000 for the nonprofit.
