Florida Holocaust Museum open for free during Kanye West’s stop in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Holocaust Museum will offer free admission this weekend as Kanye West brings his shows to Tampa.

The rapper is performing two shows at Raymond James Stadium, on Friday, June 26, and Sunday, June 28.

His performance drew backlash from some elected officials, including Senators Rick Scott and Ashley Moody, who demanded Tampa Sports Authority cancel the shows.

TSA declined to do so, citing “free speech rights guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution.” They also disputed Scott’s claim that any taxpayer money would be used to stage the concerts.

West’s two shows are still set to go on as planned, but the Florida Holocaust Museum highlighted his history of antisemitic comments and encouraged potential concert-goers to reject his presence in Tampa Bay.

The museum will offer free admission on June 26, 27, and 28 to offer residents and visitors a chance to learn more about the history of antisemitism.
