TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Police arrested a Tampa man who they believe used Artificial Intelligence to create Child Sexual Abuse Material.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) sent detectives a tip on May 29 regarding apparent child pornography images uploaded onto Google’s servers.

The case was originally assigned to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, which transferred control to TPD after tracing the IP Address to 1120 E Twiggs St in Tampa.
According to a Tampa Police search warrant, detectives authored a warrant to Google for the email associated with the child pornography images, and confirmed the account holder to be Brian Schaaf, 30.

Detectives identified images they believed to be AI-generated, as well as search history that included “free bestiality porn,” “hidden camera porn,” and “Amazon Best Sellers: Best Hidden Cameras.” Detectives also found numerous searches for “AI face swap” and “NSFW (not safe for work) AI face swap,” court documents said.
Google also provided application history, such as the use of AI Face Swap apps, Telegram, Discord, and Secure Folder.
Brian Schaaf was arrested on June 8 and charged with two felony counts of creating child pornography.
According to a TPD search warrant, Schaaf co-owns the smoothie shop Robeks, located at 1211 Kennedy Blvd., two blocks south of his home.
After executing the search warrant, detectives found more images, and the U.S. Marshals Task Force took Schaaf into custody on Tuesday.
He now faces 100 felony charges of solicitation or possession of child pornography, as well as six felony charges of generating altered sexual depiction without consent.
“This case is disturbing and incomprehensible,” Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said. “I am incredibly proud of the detectives whose tireless dedication helped remove this predator from our community and put him behind bars.”
