TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Warrick Dunn Charities hosted a free community health and wellness day Saturday, encouraging people to take proper care of themselves.
“The way that I grew up really impacted what I’m doing today, and that’s really supporting individuals and supporting families,” College Football Hall of Fame inductee and NFL star Warrick Dunn said. “Let’s bring a community together.”
Saturday’s event was centered around improving physical health, financial stability, and mental well-being.
Dunn said they want to provide people with resources to better themselves, while offering support from various community organizations.
“Let’s put the things in place to help them live longer lives so they’re able to create those memories, spend that time with family, friends, their kids, parents,” Dunn said. “We really want to help people help themselves.”

Heisman winner Charlie Ward’s Ward Family Foundation partnered with Warrick Dunn Charities to help make this event possible.
“Our minds, of course, think alike when it comes to what we’re trying to get accomplished in the community, which is helping people in their wellness, holistically,” Ward said.
He pointed out that community resource events like this are critical.
“We all go through the different struggles that we have, but it’s also important to know that there are resources out there to be able to help you through those struggles and you don’t have to do it alone,” Ward said.
The activities also featured fitness and nutrition demonstrations, which Dunn said give people the tools to learn how to create a healthier life for themselves.
“Healthy minds, healthy bodies create healthier communities,” Dunn said. “We can all help each other by supporting each other and encouraging each other to live better lives.”
