A 21-year-old Orlando man is dead after being struck by a sedan while attempting to cross a street in Orange County on Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
At approximately 10:38 p.m., a 2014 BMW 535i driven by an 18-year-old Orlando man was traveling westbound on Gatlin Avenue west of Evander Drive, FHP said.
FHP said the pedestrian was walking from the south shoulder and was attempting to cross Gatlin Avenue to the north shoulder. The man was not in a marked crosswalk and entered the direct path of the BMW.
As a result, the front of the sedan struck the pedestrian, FHP said. The man was pronounced dead on-scene.
The driver of the BMW was not transported and remained on-scene, FHP said.
This crash remains under investigation.
