A brush fire is still burning in western Broward County on Monday morning.
The Atlantic fire is burning near the Sawgrass Expressway and Commercial Boulevard, and around 180 acres have been burned. It is 0% contained, according to the Florida Forest Service.
Fire officials say the flames are not threatening homes or businesses.
This fire comes as three other blazes—the Quarry, Well and Corrections fires—in Miami-Dade have been burning for several days and remain active.
According to the Florida Forest Service, all of those fires are at least 90% contained.
Light winds, minimal rain in today’s forecast
“The winds are light out of the east, blowing the smoke to the west today,” NBC6 meteorologist Adam Berg said. “Not a strong wind, which is again, helpful for folks fighting this brush fire. What we really need is some rainfall.”
But that doesn’t seem likely on Monday.
By the middle of the week, Berg forecasts a better chance for rain.

Meanwhile, dry conditions and dangerously hot temperatures continue, according to the National Weather Service.
Dry vegetation can easily catch fire from a lightning strike or other source, making it easier for flames to spread.
