PLANTATION, Fla. (CBS12) — A child was found dead inside a car at an early childhood education center Monday, according to the Plantation Police Department.

The Plantation Police Department said officers and crews from the Plantation Fire Department responded around 5:30 p.m. to a report of a child found dead inside a vehicle at A World of Discovery, located at 7025 NW 4th St.

When Plantation Fire Department crews arrived, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

A death investigation is underway, police said.

CBS12 News reported in mid-June that a 3-year-old child was found dead inside a car in Hillsborough County after the child’s father said he found the child unresponsive.
