Key Biscayne residents won’t have to travel far to renew their Rickenbacker Causeway annual pass.
Representatives from Miami-Dade County will be on hand for three sessions at the Key Biscayne Community Center’s Lighthouse Lounge, 10 Village Green Way, to offer assistance to residents 65 and older.
The sessions are scheduled for 9-11:30 a.m., on July 23, Aug. 20 and Sept. 10.
Registration fee is $72 per vehicle and $120 for a commuter plan per vehicle (non-prorated).
All plans require an active SunPass transponder hooked up to the vehicle on file with the registration.
Failure to maintain a SunPass in good standing or update account information will result in toll fees.
Most Key Biscayne residents use the Rickenbacker Causeway to connect to the mainland and Virginia Key over Biscayne Bay.
The toll road is the primary ingress and egress route for residents, allowing them to travel to and from the island for commuting, shopping, recreation and access to cultural and natural attractions such as Crandon Park, Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science.
