BAY LAKE, Fla. – “Wilde” days are ahead at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as guests can hop into the world of “Zootopia” like never before.
Located in the Tree of Life Theater, Zootopia: Better Zoogether celebrates the interconnectedness of all living creatures and the importance of protecting the environment.
The story unfolds on “Zoogether Day,” a city-wide celebration in Zootopia that combines the spirit of Earth Day with New Year’s festivities.
The nine-minute 4D theater show features special effects and a unique twist on 3D glasses called “Carrot Vision.”

“We wanted to make sure that the story that we captured within the show speaks to that, that all animals are living in their individual biomes, but ultimately we’re all connected together,” said Priya Sampat of Walt Disney Imagineering. “All of our actions impact one another. And having that at the heart of the park is just amazing.”

Guests will visit three distinct lands in the city of Zootopia: Tundratown, Marsh Market, and Little Rodentia.”
Better Zoogether also introduces a new character, Heidi Howler, a lively wolf who serves as the host of the show. There’s also the debut of Benjamin Clawhauser, the beloved ZPD officer, as an all-new Audio-Animatronics figure.

In addition to the theater experience, Disney is opening a new meet-and-greet location called the Better Day Gathering Spot. Here, guests can meet beloved characters Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, who will be sporting new looks and costumes. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a tailgate party, creating a festive and interactive environment for visitors.
The attraction replaces “It’s Tough to be a Bug!”, a show that was known for its effects, including water spray and activating a stink bug smell. Imagineers said Zootopia: Better Zoogether promises new scents and effects inside the theater, enhancing the immersive experience without any unpleasant surprises.

Reflecting on their journey, Goodwin said, “I keep crying that I got the job in the first place, like 10 or 11 years ago. I was newly pregnant with my eldest when I got this job.”
Torrence recalled his own audition experience and the rare opportunity to live with the longevity of a project that continues to resonate with audiences.
“My buddy said, ‘Do you realize your grandkids are going to see this?’ ”That took me back.”
