TAMPA, Fla. — This week’s A+ Teacher helps students learn throughout the school year and the summer. Michelle Bostich is a paraeducator at Buckhorn Elementary. She works with children with autism in kindergarten through fifth grade.
“I just love it,” Bostich said. “I love working with the children. I love working with the families.”
Over the summer, Bostich teaches campers attending The Florida Aquarium’s AquaCamps.
Bostich said she loves the creativity with the artwork the kids do and their curiosity and questions about the animals.
“Michelle brings a level of energy and enthusiasm that is just remarkable for our summer camp program,” said Tristin Ware, The Florida Aquarium’s Senior Director of Learning.
Bostich said she uses the skills she’s learned in the classroom to help campers.
“If anyone is having a harder day, I’ll go in and meet them where they are and make sure they start feeling comfortable and are able to enjoy camp to the fullest experience that they can,” said Bostich. She went on to say, “I hope they leave camp feeling more comfortable trying new things.”
