TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A weak cold front is dropping into the area which will enhance the coverage of showers and storms this afternoon.
Temps heat up first with highs in the mid-90s. Feels like temps will be back in the triple digits between 11 am and 6 pm.
Rain chances will increase along the coast first before storms scatter inland through the afternoon and evening.
Afternoon storms will be in the forecast each day through the weekend. They will be lowest on Wednesday with a slightly drier day and go back up by the 4th of July.
The 4th of July forecast in Tampa and the surrounding areas will not be a washout, despite higher rain chances. The storms will be mainly in the afternoon and as of Tuesday, it looks like most of the storm activity will be inland by the evening, with most storms diminishing by 9pm.
Temps will stay quite toasty with at or above average highs through next week.
