TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — As America’s 250th anniversary approaches, several counties across the Tampa Bay area are preparing to celebrate the holiday.

With live entertainment, food, and fireworks, here’s a list of activities happening throughout the week.

June 29Pinellas County

The city of Clearwater will hold its Red, White, and Blue Bracelet Bash at the Main Library. Guests will have the chance to create their own red, white and blue bracelets from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

June 30Pinellas County

The City of Clearwater will host its Great Merica Duck Decorating Contest at the North Greenwood Library from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration is not required, and the event is first-come, first-served.

July 1Pinellas County

The City of St. Petersburg will hold a Flag Raising Ceremony at City Hall at 9 a.m. Mayor Welch and several city officials are expected to attend.

The City of Clearwater will hold its “Dig In!” celebration at North Greenwood Library from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants will learn about America’s oldest park, create a volcano, and become honorary national park rangers.

Polk County

The U.S. Air Force Band will perform at the Youkey Theatre in Lakeland at 7 p.m. The band is performing throughout Florida throughout June and July in honor of the Nation’s 250th anniversary.

July 2Hillsborough

Carnival Cruise Line will host a series of celebrations aboard its ships. The event will feature the Pledge of Allegiance, a performance of America the Beautiful by Carnival’s entertainment team, and a military tribute.

Pinellas County

The City of Clearwater will host a Family Colonial Games Day at the Main Library from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. During the event, children ages seven and older will have the chance to try games children might have played during the colonial and early American periods.

July 3Hillsborough County

ZooTampa will host a month-long “Red, White and Zoo” celebration in July. The celebration will feature themed animal enrichment activities, patriotic merchandise, festive food and beverages, and giveaways.

Pinellas County

The Clearwater Threshers will host a post-game fireworks display both Friday and Saturday at BayCare Ballpark. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. game.

Dunedin Parks & Recreation will host the Dunedin Goes Carting golf parade at 6 p.m., which will travel through downtown Dunedin and end at TD Ballpark. The celebration will continue at the ballpark with a live band, an outdoor movie, face painting, a photo booth, games, and a fireworks show.

Sarasota County

Nathan Benderson Park and the Pops Orchestra of Bradenton will hold the “Fireworks on the Lake – America 250” celebration at Nathan Benderson Park.

Gates open at 5 p.m. as local performer Sugar Vibe performs live music. The Pops Orchestra will perform at 8 p.m., and a 15-minute fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m.

July 4 (Independence Day)Hillsborough

The City of Tampa will hold its Liberty by the Bay celebration at 4 p.m. at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park. The event will include a 250-drone light show and a fireworks display over the Hillsborough River.

The city will offer free rides on the Jolley Trolley Shuttles to the event from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk will honor the holiday with its signature July 4 festivities in partnership with the City of Tampa’s Liberty by the Bay. The event will include two water ski shows, a VIP experience at Jackson’s Bistro, Bar and Sushi lounge, a Boat Parade, and a fireworks display.

MOSI, Tampa’s Museum of Science & Innovation, will hold its Stars, Stripes & Science celebration from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Pinellas County

The city of St. Petersburg will host its sixth annual “The Fourth” celebration at the St. Pete Pier. Beginning at 4 p.m., the free event will feature live music, a craft beer garden, Uncle Sam’s Markt, a Family Fun Zone, food vendors, and roaming entertainment.

The celebration will conclude with a fireworks show at 9 p.m.

The St. Pete Opera will hold its “4th of July Pops Spectacular” at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater at 6 p.m. The celebration will feature a range of patriotic, classical American, and Broadway musical selections.

The city of St. Pete Beach will hold its “Red, White & BBQ 4th of July Party” from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will include a Military Tribute and Flyover from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will conclude with a fireworks display at 9 p.m.

The city of Clearwater will give away 250 hot dogs from noon to 5 p.m. at most local recreation centers.

The City of Gulfport will offer a day of community festivities on Saturday. The celebration will begin with the opening of “The Spirit of ’76 Half Century Time Capsule” at City Hall at 9 a.m.

A Family Fun Day will then occur at Tomlinson Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a fireworks display by Pyro Productions will launch from the Williams Pier at 9 p.m.

The City of Largo is set to hold its Fourth of July Celebration at Largo Central Park at 6 p.m. Guests can enjoy food and market vendors, crafts, live music by Good Luck Kings, and a fireworks display to conclude at 9 p.m.

Hernando County

The “Hernando County’s Salute to America 250” celebration is set to take place at 4 p.m. at the historic Sand Hill Scout Reservation located at 11210 Cortez Blvd in Brooksville.

Polk County

LEGOLAND Florida Resort will hold its “Red, White & BOOM!” celebration on Saturday. The family-friendly event will include LEGO building activities, character meet-and-greets, live entertainment, and the resort’s largest fireworks show over Lake Eloise.

Guests will be provided special viewing glasses that turn each burst into colorful LEGO brick shapes.

Manatee County

The City of Palmetto will host its Palmetto Fourth Fest celebration at Palmetto Riverside Park from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event will include a grand fireworks show on the river beginning around 9 p.m.

The city will also hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its Patriot Park at 9 a.m. as a lasting tribute to the nation’s history and future.

Myakka Skyworks will host its second annual Community Fireworks Show in Myakka City.

Sarasota County

The City of North Port will hold its annual “Freedom Festival: Cheers to 250 Years” at 6 p.m. Held at CoolToday Park, the event will feature entertainment, family activities, food vendors, live music and a fireworks finale.

Pasco County

The Echebucsassa Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will host the East Pasco Celebrates America 250 event in downtown Dade City. The event will begin at Burke’s Park from 6 p.m.to 8 p.m., and will conclude with fireworks at 9 p.m.
