• I’m ticked off at people who leave their cars at gas pumps in order to go inside a convenience store and buy something. This ties up the gas pump and it cannot be used by other patrons who are waiting to fill their cars with gas. It only takes a minute to drive your car from the gas pump to the parking spaces in front of the convenience store. How lazy and self-centered can people be?

• I’m ticked off that a woman was killed by an alligator on the Econlockhatchee River. This animal was most likely fed by well-meaning people, causing it to lose its fear of man, and became very dangerous. Do not feed alligators for that very reason. My sincere condolences to the victim’s family for this unnecessary tragedy.

• I, too, am very disappointed with the comic strips lately. “LuAnn” is getting much too sexual and others are getting much too political, i.e., “Pearls Before Swine.” I can’t read these with my grandkids anymore. We want smiles and something to laugh about. We don’t need your personal opinions and sexual references. Please stop!

The flip side

• I had a bronchoscopy recently at Orlando Health — Health Central Hospital in Ocoee and want to praise the outstanding care given to me by the professional endoscopy team. Everyone was so kind, compassionate and explained the procedure in great detail so that the whole experience actually made me feel quite comfortable, relieving my fears. Thank you, team! You are the best!
