FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A Fort Pierce man wanted on a methamphetamine sales warrant was allegedly found with trafficking amounts of methamphetamine and MDMA, along with several other illegal drugs, after detectives searched his home.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office announced that Joshua Thompson, 46, was arrested on June 30 by detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division, assisted by the U.S. Marshals South Florida Fugitive Task Force, while serving a felony arrest warrant related to the alleged sale and delivery of methamphetamine.

During the investigation, detectives said they developed probable cause to obtain a narcotics search warrant for Thompson’s residence, the sheriff’s office said.

SLCSO said the search uncovered approximately 60.5 grams of methamphetamine, 43.5 grams of MDMA, 0.5 grams of cocaine, 7.68 grams of diazepam and 2.1 grams of ketamine.

In addition to the outstanding warrant, Thompson was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in MDMA, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thompson was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail, where he remained incarcerated Wednesday.
