TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – An accidental fire early Wednesday morning fully engulfed a home in southwest Tallahassee, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department.
TFD crews were dispatched at about 4:12 a.m. to a home on Lake Atkinson Drive. The department said they arrived to see that the fire was “heavily involved” in a single-story wood-framed mobile home.
There were reportedly no occupants or pets at the time of the fire and it was suppressed within 30 minutes. Only the main bedroom and an attached addition were left standing after the burn, the local fire department said.

“Crews remained on scene to complete salvage and overhaul operations and extinguish hot spots,” TFD said.
The fire is “believed to be accidental” due to a backyard fire spreading into the residence, TFD said. There were no injuries reported.
