A Fort Pierce man is facing several drug charges after St. Lucie County deputies said they found illegal drugs inside his home. The U.S. Marshals South Florida Fugitive Task Force helped serve the arrest warrant. While carrying out the arrest, detectives gathered enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for Thompson’s home, according to the sheriff’s office. During the search, deputies said they found methamphetamine, MDMA, cocaine, diazepam and ketamine. Investigators reported seizing more than 60 grams of methamphetamine and more than 43 grams of MDMA. Thompson was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking MDMA, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, in addition to the original warrant.He was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office. Sheriff Richard Del Toro Jr. said detectives will continue working to identify and arrest people accused of selling illegal drugs in the county.
