GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) announced a new partnership with Suncoast Credit Union to enhance financial literacy programming for student-athletes across Florida.

As the Official Credit Union of the FHSAA, Suncoast Credit Union will provide financial education resources designed to empower students with critical life skills—helping them make informed decisions about money management, budgeting, saving, and planning for their future. This collaboration aligns with FHSAA’s mission to develop well-rounded leaders both on and off the field.

Through workshops, digital tools, and school-based initiatives, Suncoast Credit Union will support students, parents, and coaches with practical guidance to navigate financial challenges at every stage of life. By building confidence and responsibility in financial matters, the program equips student-athletes with knowledge that extends far beyond their playing days.

In addition to its educational initiatives, Suncoast Credit Union will receive prominent presence at FHSAA State Championship events statewide, engaging directly with fans, athletes, and communities to celebrate the spirit of high school sports. This partnership will also extend beyond the field through their support as a Founding Partner of the newly established FHSAA Community Program – an initiative designed to help the Association give back to its member schools and local communities during times of need. “Our credit union believes in the promise of youth, and we believe these athletes can benefit by learning how money works to build a foundation for financial well-being in the game of life,” said Bob Hyde, Vice President of Community Impact for Suncoast Credit Union. “Helping students learn before the stakes are too high, fulfills our mission to improve our members lives and the communities we serve. A financially educated young person is better able to build a meaningful life which benefits us all,” he added.

“High school athletics are about preparing young people for success in life—not just in sports,” said FHSAA Executive Director Craig Damon. “Through this partnership, Suncoast Credit Union will not only provide our student-athletes valuable financial literacy resources that they can use for a lifetime but will also have a visible impact at our state championship events and in our communities across Florida. As a Founding Partner of our new FHSAA Community Program, Suncoast is helping us ensure that we can support our members and communities when they need us most.”
