ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Tampa Bomb Squad is set to detonate an “unstable” explosive device found in the garage of a St. Pete home.
The device was found at 7201 8th Street N after a homeowner passed away.
St. Pete police called the Tampa Bomb Squad for assistance, which determined it was too unstable to transport.
The bomb squad plans to bury the device and detonate it underground this afternoon to render it safe.
According to police, this is a dead-end road, and nearby mobile homes will be evacuated until after the detonation is complete.
