Miami Autism Dad Victor Antunez interviews Fernanda Jorgensen, mom to 5-year-old Declan and Executive Director of Philanthropy Miami, the organization that convenes the county’s nonprofit sector. Fernanda traces the spine injury that taught her to slow down years before she became an autism parent, the warning she’d give every special needs family about losing yourself while advocating for your child, and the two truths a parent learns to hold at once: loving your child deeply and grieving the expectations you once had.
