TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – There are dozens of dogs available for adoption at the shelter right now who would love to celebrate freedom with you!
The shelter is closed for Independence Day on Saturday, July 4 but will re-open Sunday for those looking to adopt a Furry Friday pup – or any other dog! Or cat!
WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center team up each week to spotlight four adoptable dogs in hopes of helping them find their fur-ever homes faster!
Here are the dogs we are featuring this week:
MEET CHAZ!
Chaz is a charmer! He’ll sit patiently for treats and wow you with his cool speckled ears!(WCTV)

He is one cool cat!
Chaz trying to beat the heat this week by stretching out in the cool dirt … enjoying the shade and some sweet scratches
Chaz was found as a stray and his owner never came to claim him.
This friendly fellow is active and affectionate.
He knows his manners too … sitting patiently for treats and the chance to wow you with his cool speckled ears.

MEET RALPH!
Ralph is big and goofy and quick to roll over for a belly rub!(WCTV)
Meet Ralph!
This lab great dane mix is the best of both worlds!
He’s big and goofy and quick to roll over for a belly rub!
Ralph enjoys sprawling out in the shade and holding your hand as long as those tummy scratches continue!
Ralph is easy going and friendly and wags his tail while he’s walking!
Somehow this big boy wound up stray on the streets and was hit by a car. He’s recovered now, but he prefers a new home on a quiet street far from passing cars!

MEET MITZI!
Mitzi loves stretching out for a belly rub in the cool green grass … and loves playing ball!(WCTV)

Mitzi is one precious puppy!
She is sweet and gentle and loves to snuggle up for hugs!
Mitzi came in after she and her pal Itzi were found as strays. Itzi got adopted and Mitzi can’t wait for her turn!

This big girl is personality plus!
Climbing right up on the picnic table to sit next to Furry Friday volunteer extraordinaire Miss Marti.
Luna is queen size lap dog with a zest for life.
Ready to stop, drop and roll in the grass.
She will gladly sit for treats and shake on it … one paw after another!
Luna is a loving and loyal companion … the perfect combination of easy going and happy go lucky!

MEET AND GREET
You can meet these dogs and dozens more awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center. It’s located across from Tom Brown Park at 1125 Easterwood Drive in Tallahassee.
The shelter is closed on Saturday, July 4th for Independence Day, but will be back open Sunday for those looking to adopt!
You can walk through the kennels Tuesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and can also visit by appointment the rest of the week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
