Fourth of July weekend is bringing fireworks, parades, concerts and waterfront celebrations across Pinellas County as communities mark America’s 250th birthday.

The semiquincentennial gives this year’s Independence Day events a special anniversary hook, with festivities planned from St. Petersburg’s downtown waterfront and Clearwater’s Coachman Park to Gulf beaches, downtown Dunedin, Largo and Tarpon Springs.

July 3

— Clearwater two-day festival: Coachman Park will host Clearwater’s expanded two-day celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, featuring a children’s zone, musical performances, street performers, a military and veteran appreciation tent, a silent disco, and food vendors. — Clearwater Threshers fireworks: BayCare Ballpark will celebrate Independence Day with Clearwater Threshers games and postgame fireworks on July 3 and 4. — Dunedin celebration: TD Ballpark will host Dunedin’s Hometown USA celebration, which starts with the Dunedin Goes Carting patriotic golf cart parade traveling through downtown and ending at the ballpark. — St. Pete Pier Run: Runners can start Independence Day with a four-mile run or walk along the St. Pete Pier and downtown waterfront. The Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital Pier Run begins at the St. Pete Pier and Spa Beach, with waves at 6:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. More information: stpeterunfest.org

— The Fourth at the St. Pete Pier: St. Petersburg’s sixth annual “The Fourth” Independence Day Celebration will bring live music, a craft beer garden, Uncle Sam’s Market, a family fun zone, food vendors, roaming entertainment and fireworks to the downtown waterfront. The free event runs 4-10 p.m. at the St. Pete Pier, 600 Second Ave. NE, with fireworks at 9 p.m. Organizers indicate this year’s fireworks will “double in scale and splendor” in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. — St. Pete Beach BBQ and fireworks: Horan Park will host St. Pete Beach’s Red, White & BBQ Fourth of July Party and Fireworks Show, featuring a BBQ cooking competition, inflatable obstacle course, dunk tank, yard games, crafts hosted by the St. Pete Beach Public Library, a watermelon eating contest, ice cream treats and a military tribute and flyover. — Yacht StarShip fireworks cruise: Yacht StarShip will offer a Clearwater Fourth of July fireworks cruise with a meal, drinks, DJ entertainment and views of the fireworks from the water.
