TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Loved ones gathered Friday to celebrate the life of Tallahassee native Blake Thacker, who died in a Missouri skydiving plane crash in June.
Thacker, 25, was among 11 skydivers and a pilot who were killed in the crash on June 14. WCTV previously reported that he was on the plane to complete his certification to become a skydiving coach.
The 25-year-old’s celebration of life was held at East Hill Baptist Church, where loved ones remembered his passion for skydiving and love for others through heartfelt tributes, music and stories.
The service opened with an emotional video tribute highlighting Thacker’s adventurous spirit. Throughout the ceremony, family and friends reflected on the impact he made on those around him.

“He was enthusiastic; he was dependable and prepared,” Richard Thacker, his dad, said. “His mom, sister and I loved him so very much so proud of him and what he accomplished in his 25 years and all the lives he touched.”
His sister, Allison Thacker, also gave a solo performance.
One of the final tributes celebrated his years in drumline, featuring a video of memories from his time performing in high school and college.
