More than 50,000 people are expected to gather at the downtown West Palm Beach waterfront for the Fourth of July, according to Discover the Palm Beaches, to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.If you came to the city’s celebration last year, organizers say this year’s event will be even bigger.There will be not one, but two barges launching fireworks, along with a laser show — all happening at the same time.Chief certified Meteorologist Cris Martinez will host the festivities. The event begins at 5 p.m., with fireworks scheduled for 9:09 p.m.Residents and visitors say they’re especially excited because this Fourth of July has even more sentimental value.”It’s just amazing to see the whole community together, especially nowadays.” said resident Jorge Marin.”My mom is here from Indiana and she’s going to see the Fourth of July for the first time, so I’m excited for her”, said Shilpa Katariya, a visitor from Virginia.”I’m looking forward to the music. My mom is an immigrant, but she is a citizen. It’s just kind of great, just to celebrate America,” said Lisa Parrish of the Loxahatchee/Wellington area.Visitors will see actors portraying historical figures, including Presidents Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. The event will also feature three stages of entertainment and a kids center.”I’m proud to be an American. This country has given a million people a bunch of things and I am lucky to be one of them.” Marin added.Other Fourth of July Celebrations Across the Area Jupiter: MegaBash at Roger Dean Stadium takes place tonight and tomorrow and includes baseball games, musical performances and fireworks. If you came to the city’s celebration last year, organizers say this year’s event will be even bigger.

Residents and visitors say they’re especially excited because this Fourth of July has even more sentimental value.

“It’s just amazing to see the whole community together, especially nowadays.” said resident Jorge Marin.
