Turn the Jensen Beach camera *** little bit more to the southwest, south southwesterly, because there’s *** pretty big thunderstorm here that’s coming down just to the south of Jensen Beach there and over into Martin County and we’re watching that as we continue to monitor all the showers and storms that have been developing so far this afternoon in fact. Here’s *** look at what’s happening. We’ve got some cloud cover. Upper level winds are helping to bring in some of those clouds, but let’s zoom on into the radar. Showers and storms by the Bahamas, over in the Gulf down to our south, and in our area we’re just seeing showers and storms developing in place, not really moving in from one direction or the other. There’s just *** lot of heat, *** lot of humidity, instability. And just those showers, those big clouds towering up. So Felsmere with *** little bit of rainfall there, Saint Lucie Village, we’ve got rainfall around Collins Park Estates and Cortez Estates and down toward PGA Village, Palm Lake Park in Stewart and Palm City. That’s the shower and thunderstorm activity I was, I was aiming the Jensen Beach camera at so you could see it here. I’m not seeing as many lightning strikes right now. There’s one right there in the *** in Gardens, the word gardens there, that’s one lightning strike there. So that’s dying *** little bit, but still heavy rainfall Tequesta, Juno Beach in the red areas. That’s really heavy rain around the acreage 6 miles. Bend over to Runyon and Belle Glade and some lighter rainfall around Wellington, Royal Palm, and down through parts of Highland Beach with *** little bit of shower activity right now. Let me show you what’s happening in the bright green. That is where there is *** lot of moisture. *** lot of moisture means higher chances for rain, and that sticks around in South Florida for today and tomorrow. Here’s tomorrow, and you see that really light green all in place there. And then as we get into Sunday in the darker areas, this is slightly drier air, and that starts to move in on Sunday. So our rain chances. Begin to decrease. Here’s *** look at the future rainfall this afternoon scattered to numerous showers and *** few strong thunderstorms possible even into the evening hours. Then tomorrow morning looking pretty good for the morning of the 4th of July, but as soon as we hit those afternoon hours, showers and storms begin developing and everything drifting maybe *** little south to north, but very, very slowly, and some of these storms could be quite strong tomorrow afternoon. The good news is most computer models show that as we get close to fireworks time around 9 o’clock. *** lot of the rainfall starts to go away, not all of it, but most of it starts to go away as we get to mid evening hours. So we’re going to watch that carefully. Uh, make sure you tune into Nikki tomorrow and Brooke as well. They will keep you up to speed on that. So 50% chance for showers and storms today and tomorrow, both days with some impact weather. And then as we get to Sunday, Monday, 40% chance for rain and then rain chances decreasing as Saharan dust moves in next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. That’s *** look at your weather.

A lightning strike occurred near Indiantown’s water treatment plant Friday night, causing an outage that has impacted the water system for the village’s 6,800 residents.The village in Martin County said utility crews are on-site working to restore water service and system pressure as quickly and safely as possible. Indiantown receives water from the artesian aquifer via eight wells, which are located around the Village Water Treatment Plant at 15851 SW Farm Road. A lightning strike occurred near Indiantown’s water treatment plant Friday night, causing an outage that has impacted the water system for the village’s 6,800 residents.
The village in Martin County said utility crews are on-site working to restore water service and system pressure as quickly and safely as possible.
A thorough assessment of the damage is underway.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews work to restore normal operations,” the village posted on Facebook.
Indiantown receives water from the artesian aquifer via eight wells, which are located around the Village Water Treatment Plant at 15851 SW Farm Road.
