In the spirit of America’s 250th birthday, we present all flip side comments today:

The flip side

• A heartfelt thank you to the Lake Nona VA for hosting a veterans resource event in honor of America’s 250th birthday. There’s no better way to celebrate our nation’s milestone than by supporting the men and women who served it. Kudos to director/CEO Tim Cooke, along with the dedicated staff and volunteers, for organizing such a meaningful and well‑run event.

• Thank you again to the considerate gentleman who saw items, including a protective collar, blow off the top of our car as we left the veterinary surgery office in Oviedo. He knocked on our window when we stopped at a light, told us what had happened and then retrieved the items for us. We were stressed as we were leaving with our groggy, postoperative dog.

• Thank you to the lady I see in the bright yellow vest who cleans the trash around the parking lot in the shopping center at the southeast corner of Curry Ford Road and Goldenrod Road. All your daily efforts are greatly appreciated.

• Kudos to Doors-N-More. Called them on a Saturday about 1 p.m. from Lake Mary. After waiting a while, I Googled them to find out they are closed Saturday and Sunday. They called first thing Monday morning and were here by 8:30. My garage door was back in business by 9:30 a.m. with replaced springs and cables. Thank you, Shane, for doing an excellent job.
