Many public services in South Florida will be closed or curtailed on Friday, July 3, in honor of Independence Day. But it will be business as usual for most stores and malls on that day, although some hours are changing on Saturday, July 4.
Here’s a rundown during the July 3-4 holiday stretch:
Supermarkets
Publix: Open regular hours.

Winn-Dixie: Open regular hours.
Sedano’s: Open regular hours.
Presidente: Open regular hours.
Milam’s Market: Open regular hours.

Price Choice Markets: Open, check your location.
The Fresh Market: Open regular hours.
Whole Foods Market: Most stores close at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Aldi: Most stores close at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Trader Joe’s: All stores close at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Walmart Neighborhood Market: Open regular hours.
Big box stores
Walmart: Open regular hours.
Target: Open regular hours on Saturday.
Costco: Closed on Saturday.
BJ’s Wholesale Club: Open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
Pharmacies
CVS/Navarro: Regular store hours Saturday. CVS pharmacies will be closed, or open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Navarro pharmacies will be closed, or open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Walgreens: Regular store hours Saturday, but most pharmacies are closed. Pharmacies that are open, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Shopping malls
Malls are open regular hours on Friday, July 3. The hours below are for Saturday, July 4:

Aventura Mall: Open 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Bal Harbour Shops: Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Brickell City Centre: Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Broward Mall: Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Coral Square: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Dadeland Mall: Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Dolphin Mall: Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Falls: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Florida Keys Outlet Marketplace: Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale: Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Miami International Mall: Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Pembroke Lakes Mall: Closed.
Sawgrass Mills: Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Shoppes at Merrick Park: Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Southland Mall: Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Westland Mall: Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Mass Transit
Miami-Dade: Metrobus and Metrorail will run on a Sunday schedule on Friday. Trains will run every 15 mintes between Earlington Heights and Dadeland South. Metromover will have extended service until midnight. Saturday, Metrorail and Metromover hours will be extended to 1 a.m.
Broward: Broward County Transit will run a regular weekday schedule on Friday, and a Sunday/holiday schedule on Saturday. The Main Terminal in Fort Lauderdale and the Lauderhill Transit Center will have staff from 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 P.M. Help with bus services and paratransit TOPS services can be found at 954-357-8400 (TTY 954-357-8302).
Tri-Rail: Friday, Tri-Rail will run on a normal schedule. As July 4 is both a weekend and a holiday, Tri-Rail will run on a Weekend/Holiday Schedule.
Garbage pickup
Miami: Friday garbage and recycling collection as usual.
Miami-Dade: Garbage will not be collected on Friday. Recycling, however, will be collected on July 3. All disposal facilities will be closed on July 4, except for the South Dade Landfill (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and the Medley Landfill (closing at noon).
Fort Lauderdale: Normal garbage collection.
Broward: Garbage pickup will be collected as usual. The Broward County Landfill will be open Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Saturday.
For all others, check with your municipality.

Branches will be open and mail will be delivered on Friday. Branches closed and no mail delivery Saturday.
Money
New York Stock Exchange: Closed on Friday.
NASDAQ: Closed on Friday.
Federal Reserve Bank and branches: Open on Friday, closed as usual on Saturday.
Bank branches: Check with your bank. Whether or not branches are open, ATMs and online banking remain operational.
Courts and county offices
Miami-Dade: The county offices and the clerk’s office will be closed July 3.
Broward: The clerk of the courts and other county offices will be closed July 3.
Libraries
Miami-Dade: All branches closed Friday and Saturday.

Broward: All branches will be open Friday, and closed Saturday.
