We have our second trade of NFL trade deadline day, as the Jacksonville Jaguars are acquiring a wide receiver from the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jakobi Meyers is getting traded to Jacksonville in exchange for 2026 fourth- and sixth-round picks.

“ESPN sources: Raiders are trading WR Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for fourth- and sixth-round picks,” Schefter reported.

Schefter adds that the Pittsburgh Steelers were one of the other teams interested in acquiring Meyers, but Jacksonville was ultimately able to land him.

This is a fairly big surprise, as not many people had the Jags on their radars as a team that could trade for a wide receiver, and especially not for a wideout who amounted to one of the biggest names on the market.

The Jaguars had a clear need at wide receiver, though, after losing Travis Hunter to a knee injury that could sideline him for the remainder of the 2025 campaign.

The Raiders trading Meyers was inevitable after the team didn’t give him a contract extension this past offseason, which led to the veteran requesting a trade, a demand Meyers never relented on.

This is a very solid haul for the Raiders, who grab two draft picks, including an early Day 3 selection, for a player on an expiring contract.

Meyers brings a wealth of experience and a solid history of production with him to Jacksonville. Meyers has tallied 800 yards or more four times, including a 1,000-yard campaign in 2024.

Bear in mind, Meyers has had less-than ideal quarterback situations for most of his career, so that makes those numbers more impressive.

With Meyers in the fold, the Jaguars once again have a solid one-two punch for Trevor Lawrence when you include Brian Thomas Jr., who has struggled this season but showed a ton of promise in 2024.
