WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A section of Florida’s Turnpike is shut down Sunday afternoon after police activity and a vehicle fire prompted multiple lane and ramp closures in Palm Beach County.
According to Florida 511, all southbound lanes are closed from Exit 107 (S.R. 710/Bee Line Highway) to before Mile Marker 103 because of a vehicle fire.
Traffic alerts also show police activity between Exit 107 and the ramp to Exit 99 (Okeechobee Boulevard/S.R. 704), with all southbound lanes closed in the area.

The latest traffic update was issued at 3:36 p.m. Authorities also reported a Road Ranger is on scene and is reminding drivers to move over or slow down.
It is unclear whether the vehicle fire and police activity are connected. Officials have not released additional details, and it is unknown when the roadway will reopen.
