BRANDON, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida air unit helped bust a 24-car street takeover in Brandon after spotting a car spewing sparks during dangerous burnouts.
In the early hours of Sunday, deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) say they responded to a two dozen car street takeover.
The street takeover reportedly happened near S. Gornto Lake Road and Bloomingdale Ave. in Brandon.

HCSO sent its Aviation Unit spotted a white Dodge Challenger, driven by 20-year-old Miguel Medeiro Rocha, with sparks visible from the sky, doing dangerous burnouts.
Pilots reportedly guided ground deputies who acted fast and pulled Medeiro Rocha over, arresting him for unlawful racing on a highway, reckless driving, and felony fleeing to elude.
