Jackson Barberi, Aidan King and Joshua Whritenour all made the 28-man roster for the 2026 Collegiate National Team.

The Florida trio has been with Team USA in training camp for two weeks and performed well enough to make the roster that will play in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship at Taichung City Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Taichung City, Taiwan, from July 11-15.

“We are excited to finalize the 28-man roster that will represent the United States in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship,” said Eric Campbell, USA Baseball’s General Manager of Professional and Collegiate National Teams. “The talent at Training Camp was incredible and made this decision difficult, but we are confident that these 28 players will represent the U.S. well in our quest to win a gold medal.”

Florida is the only school with three players on the roster. King, the SEC Pitcher of the Year, participated in training camp last year but did not make the official roster. Whritenour participated in the 2023 Prospect Development Pipeline League, run by USA Baseball.

All three pitchers made appearances on Saturday, June 27. Barberi and Whritenour took the mound the following Monday. Both went three up, three down against the AL Select Roster in relief, albeit in separate games. Barberi pitched for Stars, and Whritenour threw for Stripes.

King made his second start in Game 2 of the Stars and Stripes series. He went three scoreless innings in the start, despite allowing two hits and a walk. He sat 91-93 with his fastball and flashed a 1,200 rpm changeup in the mid-80s along with his low-80s slider.

Whritenour pitched in the final game of the series, retiring the side in order again through one inning of work. After showing shaky command in his first outing, Whritenour redeemed himself with four strikeouts in six batters faced.
