TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Hundreds filled Kleman Plaza Green for the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra’s Star Spangled concert.
“Swells me with pride, this is without a doubt the greatest nation on earth,” one man said.
Pride, patriotism and purpose filling the hearts of Americans here in the capital city for the 250th celebration of the nation.
“We always like to be central to anything that’s going on in the community and especially a celebration like this of our country’s 250th so it’s really exciting for us to do this,” Amanda Stringer said.
Independence Day bringing unity through music, food and fellowship.
“We’re ready to celebrate and honor America.”
“I’m very proud of being an American. I’m also a military brat and I’ve been a Tallahassee resident for 38-40 years and everything’s been great,” one person said.
From children laughing and playing games to older generations taking a quiet moment to reflect on the history of America.
“It’s just such a joy to celebrate 250 years. It’s quite a milestone and I’m a little older so I was here when we had the bicentennial and it’s a wonderful just a thing of history,” another attendee said.
Watching with hope, gratitude and a message for the future generations to take with them.
“It’s very important that our young people learn what actually took place. We’re not a perfect people, we’re not a perfect nation but we are striving for that perfection,” a third person said.
