Miami drivers are continuing to see relief at the pump, with average gasoline prices falling another 2.6 cents per gallon over the past week.
As the post-Independence Day week begins, the average price of regular gasoline in Miami-Dade County stands at $3.79 per gallon. According to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,690 stations in Miami, prices are 14.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago but remain 73.1 cents higher than a year ago.
GasBuddy reported the cheapest station in Miami was selling regular gasoline for $2.99 per gallon on Sunday. On Key Biscayne, both gas stations remained at $5.49 per gallon, ranking among the highest-priced stations in Miami-Dade County.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline fell 6.8 cents per gallon over the last week, averaging $3.71 per gallon to start the week.
“Average gasoline prices fell in nearly every state over the last week, with diesel declining in all 50, pushing the national average to approximately $3.74 per gallon this July 4 — the third most expensive Independence Day on record, but well off the peak of $4.57 per gallon seen in May,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “GasBuddy is now tracking 41 states with average gasoline prices below $4 per gallon, while 37 states are seeing average diesel prices below $5.”
