Gas prices showed little change in Florida this past week, dropping 3 cents over the holiday period.

AAA put the average gallon of gas in Florida at $3.75 on Monday, around where the mark has settled the past few weeks.

Averages on Monday ranged from $3.47 a gallon in Escambia County to $4.06 in Monroe County, the only part of the state with an average topping $4. The Escambia County average was 5 cents cheaper than a week earlier. The average in Monroe County was $4.08 the prior Monday.

On Monday, the average price of a gallon of unleaded gas was $3.90 in Palm Beach County, $3.79 in Broward County and $3.76 in Miami-Dade County.

The state average stood at $3.79 on July 4, 68 cents higher than a year earlier. The national average on Monday was $3.79.

Still, for motorists the holiday prices offered some relief from the $4.52 a gallon average reached on May 7, before the talks with Iran eventually allowed tankers to traverse the Strait of Hormuz.
