TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Three men were sentenced to life in prison Monday for their role in a 2023 home invasion that left a Tallahassee police officer shot.
John’Darious Wright, Rahyim Sanders and Tyrell Guinnie all received mandatory life sentences because they were convicted of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.

The sentencing comes after a jury found all three of them guilty back in May of two home invasions that happened the same night at separate locations in September 2023.
Wright was accused in both invasions, while Guinnie and Sanders were only accused in the second, in which Tallahassee Police Officer Caleb Babb was shot.
The second home invasion happened on Sandpiper Court. Wright was accused of shooting Officer Babb while running from the home invasion.
As a result, Officer Babb suffered massive blood loss but survived.
Prosecutors also said Wright shot another man during the first home invasion earlier that same night.
