During a stream with Neon, the former Milwaukee Bucks superstar said he plans to change from his longtime No. 34 after being traded to Miami.
Antetokounmpo noted that “he hasn’t decided yet” on a specific number.
“No. 7… that’s not a bad number, I’m gonna take that,” Giannis said in response to Neon’s suggestion.
Antetokounmpo wore No. 34 throughout his NBA career with the Bucks, where he became one of the best players in franchise history.
The number became closely associated with his rise from a raw prospect to a two-time NBA MVP, NBA champion, Finals MVP, and one of the most dominant players of his generation.
Bobby Portis set for unique Heat number
Giannis is not the only former Bucks player entering a new chapter in Miami.
Bobby Portis, who was traded to the Heat alongside Antetokounmpo, will wear No. 95 for Miami.
That number carries a unique detail: No. 95 has never been worn in Heat franchise history.
Portis, Bucks’ No. 9, became a fan favorite in Milwaukee for his energy, physicality, scoring off the bench, and emotional presence.
His move to Miami gives the Heat another experienced frontcourt piece next to Giannis and Bam Adebayo.
The Heat acquired Antetokounmpo and Portis from the Bucks in exchange for Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, the No. 13 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a 2030 pick swap, and a 2033 second-round pick.
