The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a Heat Advisory until 6 p.m. today as the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity is expected to push heat index values to 105 degrees or higher for two or more hours.

Today’s high will reach 89 degrees with southeast winds at 10 to 15 mph.

Residents are encouraged to take extra precautions when spending time outdoors. Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, drink plenty of water, limit strenuous activities to the early morning or evening hours, and seek shade or air conditioning whenever possible. Be alert for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Wednesday, partly cloudy with a stray shower or thunderstorm possible. The high will be around 89 degrees with east-southeast winds at 10 to 15 mph.
