TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man pleaded guilty in federal court to child exploitation charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Chandler Smith, 27, was indicted in April and pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of attempted enticement of a minor and one county of attempted transfer of obscene material to minors this month.
Court documents show Smith was arrested as part of a November undercover operation in Leon County. Law enforcement posed as a minor online and court records show Smith sent the undercover investigator sexually explicit messages and an obscene photo to entice the child to meet him for sexual activity.

In November 2025, Smith traveled to meet the investigator, who he believed was a minor, and was arrested.
Smith faces up to life in prison on the attempted enticement count and up to ten years on the attempted transfer of obscene materials count, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Sentencing is scheduled for September.
