Orlando Fire Chief Jason Revoldt has submitted his retirement, effective immediately, a spokesperson with the department said. Revoldt has been serving the Orlando community for 24 years, but was only recently sworn in as chief earlier this year in January.”We’re thankful for Chief Revoldt’s 24 years of dedicated exemplary service to the city of Orlando Fire Department and the community,” a message from OFD said.Executive Deputy Chief Shannon Teamer will run day-to-day operations as they find Revoldt’s replacement. “We’re thankful for Chief Revoldt’s 24 years of dedicated exemplary service to the city of Orlando Fire Department and the community,” OFD said.Revoldt served in multiple leadership and operational roles prior to his role as chief of OFD, including Arson/Bomb Commander, Deputy Chief of the Life Safety Bureau, and Fire Marshal.This news comes just a few months after former chief Charlie Salazar and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer expressed their confidence in Revoldt.”I am confident that Chief Revoldt’s 24 years of experience in the department will provide the foundation for strong leadership as we make this transition,” Dyer said.Salazar announced his departure from OFD in October 2025, saying he was moving to Texas to be closer to family.Salazar was with the department for three years.
