ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando Fire Chief Jason Revoldt on Tuesday submitted his retirement, and the city confirmed it was effective immediately.
Executive Deputy Chief Shannon Teamer will run day-to-day operations until a replacement is named.
In a statement to media outlets, the city said: “We’re thankful for Chief Revoldt’s 24 years of dedicated exemplary service to the city of Orlando Fire Department and the community.”
He was sworn in as fire chief earlier this year.
According to the Orlando Fire Department’s website, Revoldt worked in a number of roles with the department.
“He holds certifications as a State of Florida Paramedic, Law Enforcement Officer, FBI Bomb Technician and Arson K-9 Handler. He has also earned an associate degree in Fire Science and a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration and Investigations from Columbia Southern University,” the website said.
