Tallahassee police welcome new recruit class as academy training begins

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A new recruit class began its first day at the police academy with a welcome from the Tallahassee Police Department.

Members of the department’s recruitment team and command staff visited the academy to meet the recruits as they started their training.

The recruits are beginning what the department described as the first step in months of training, discipline and preparation to serve Tallahassee. The department also welcomed the class with a message to its “newest recruits,” saying, “Welcome to the family. We’re proud of you before you’ve even hit the ground running.”
