Lee County commissioners voted Tuesday to move forward with resurfacing a stretch of a busy Cape Coral road, selecting a contractor for work expected to begin later this month.According to the Lee County government, the $1 million contract covers nighttime work on Veterans Parkway between Santa Barbara and Country Club boulevards.Crews will work overnight and complete the project by 5 a.m. each day to minimize disruptions for the estimated 54,200 daily drivers who use the road.This is the third of four planned resurfacing phases for the corridor. When complete, the project will extend new pavement from the Midpoint Bridge to Skyline Boulevard.Work west of Skyline to Chiquita Boulevard has not yet been scheduled. According to the Lee County government, the $1 million contract covers nighttime work on Veterans Parkway between Santa Barbara and Country Club boulevards.

Crews will work overnight and complete the project by 5 a.m. each day to minimize disruptions for the estimated 54,200 daily drivers who use the road.
