TREASURE COAST — Guardians for New Futures, Inc. (GFNF4Kids) is proud to announce the launch of its Child Protection Awareness Program, featuring training on Recognizing and Responding to Child Abuse.
This educational program is designed to equip community members, professionals, and volunteers with the knowledge and skills needed to identify the signs of child abuse and respond appropriately.
“Protecting children is a shared community responsibility,” said Debbie Butler, GFNF4KIDS president. “By increasing awareness and providing practical training, we can empower individuals to recognize abuse, respond appropriately, and help create safer environments for all children.”
The training was initially developed in partnership with the Indian River State College Public Safety Training Complex to educate first responder candidates.
Due to its success and growing community need, GFNF4Kids is now expanding the program to schools, nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, businesses, and other community groups serving the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee.
Participants will receive practical, evidence-informed instruction on recognizing indicators of child abuse, understanding reporting responsibilities, and helping protect vulnerable children.
Free Continuing Education Units (CEUs), when applicable, and training certificates are available.
