We always love the Burg here at, well, I Love the Burg. But who loves the Burg the most? We’re about to find out this summer.

I Love the Burg is co-hosting a St. Pete-inspired trivia night with Voodoo Brewing Co. and Josh Ascensio of the Florida Trivia League on Friday, July 17, at 7 pm. It’s completely free to attend and play; just show up by 7 either solo or with a team and be ready to test your wits, with a side of cold beer and smoked wings. There’s plenty of seating for everyone, thanks to the massive two-story buildout at Voodoo (220 4th St N).

As for the St. Pete-inspired portion of things, we’re diving into all things Sunshine City and even Pinellas County. From geography and history to famous locals and St. Pete food and drink, it’s a celebration of St. Pete that’s designed to be enjoyable for die-hard local historians and St. Pete newcomers alike.

There will be questions that even the newest of residents can pick out, as well as some that require genuine local smarts. And to keep it fun, there will also be a full round of pop culture and general knowledge questions. This is a game where anyone can contribute.

The full I Love the Burg team will be joining in the fun, so please stop and say hi if you see us. And even if you don’t see us, you can still raise a glass with us. Voodoo is rolling out an I Love the Burg cocktail special to help celebrate the night of St. Pete love.

In the slow summers of St. Pete, we wanted to create a night that brings everyone together for some fun – in the AC! – and celebrate what we love about being locals in our little slice of paradise. There’s a lot to like about our city. The more you know, the better.

We’re also thrilled to be doing this with Voodoo Brewing. They’ve been one of our favorites in downtown since opening, with a truly fantastic scratch chicken. The smoked chicken wings are some of the best around, and I have waxed poetic to my friends on more than one occasion about how great the nachos are. Not only are they made with house-fried tortilla chips, but they adhere to the absolutely accurate idea that nachos should be served wide with toppings spread evenly, not in a pyramid-shaped pile with all the toppings dumped on the top.

The burgers and pizzas are can’t-miss, too. Plus, they have a full bar in addition to the massive draft beer selection. Plenty of NA drinks and mocktails for those avoiding alcohol, too!

We hope to see you there on Friday, July 17, at 7 pm for our first St. Pete trivia night! Voodoo Brewing is located at 220 4th St N. Follow them on Instagram to keep up with the latest.
