TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Last month, Women’s World Cup Champion with the United States Women’s National Team Crystal Dunn visited the Tallahassee Reckoning for the final match of the club’s third season. As it turns out, the visit was more than a one-time drop-in.
TLH Reckoning announced via press release on Thursday morning that Dunn will join the club as part of its ownership group as the club looks to further its ambitions to grow its presence and women’s soccer throughout Tallahassee and the Big Bend.
“I am so excited to join the Tallahassee Reckoning ownership group. I’ve always wanted to continue making an impact on the women’s game, and being part of this opportunity is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Dunn in a statement. “Tallahassee Reckoning is more than a team. It is about creating a better future for female athletes and building systems that genuinely support girls and women at every level of the game. That mission matters, and I am proud to be part of it.”
Dunn joins existing owner Dr. Ashlee Fontes in leading the Reckoning. The two have a previous relationship stemming from their time with NWSL side the Washington Spirit, where Dr. Fontes served as an executive and Dunn would make 54 appearances on the pitch.

“Crystal represents everything we hope young girls believe is possible,” said Dr. Fontes in the release. “She has competed at the highest level in the world, but what impresses me even more is her commitment to opening doors for the next generation and helping close the opportunity gap in our sport. That is exactly what we are building at TLH Reckoning. This is not about one team or one season. It is about creating a soccer ecosystem in Tallahassee for players, fans, families, partners, investors, and the entire community to access and flourish. Having Crystal help lead that work is incredibly meaningful.”
The club says Dunn’s main duties will include “strategic advising, investor engagement, advocacy, support for youth-to-professional pathway development, and helping expand TLH Reckoning’s long-term ecosystem of facilities, resources, and opportunities.” hoping the USWNT’s legends involvement is a sign of credibility and investment as the team builds toward its long term goal of creating a “youth-to-professional” pathway for young players in the region.
