Swatting call causes brief lockdown at Columbus High School, Miami-Dade deputies say – NBC 6 South Florida

A swatting call caused a brief lockdown at Columbus High School in Miami-Dade on Thursday, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the school on Southwest 87th Avenue after a shooting threat was made, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said.

Classes aren’t in session but a summer camp is being held on campus.

A lockdown was initiated and the school was searched but nothing was found and it was determined to be a swatting call, authorities said.

The lockdown was lifted. No other details were immediately known.
