Global soccer star becomes co-owner of TLH Reckoning as organization pursues youth-to-pro vision

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — FIFA Women’s World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist Crystal Dunn has joined the ownership group of Tallahassee-based TLH Reckoning, the organization announced Thursday, adding one of the biggest names in women’s soccer to its leadership team.

Dunn, who has made more than 150 appearances for the U.S. Women’s National Team and won multiple National Women’s Soccer League championships, will partner with TLH Reckoning founder and CEO Dr. Ashlee Fontes as the organization works to expand women’s soccer opportunities in the Capital City.

TLH Reckoning currently operates a girls academy and pre-professional teams in the USL W League and Women’s Premier Soccer League. The club said it plans to build a youth-to-professional development pathway that includes a future residential academy, professional team and a stadium-centered entertainment district.

“I am so excited to join the Tallahassee Reckoning ownership group,” Dunn said in a statement. “Tallahassee Reckoning is more than a team. It is about creating a better future for female athletes and building systems that genuinely support girls and women at every level of the game.”

Dunn and Fontes previously worked together with the Washington Spirit, where Fontes served as a founding executive.

Fontes, a two-time Florida State University graduate and former Seminoles standout, said Dunn’s addition strengthens the organization’s long-term mission.

“Crystal represents everything we hope young girls believe is possible,” Fontes said. “She has competed at the highest level in the world, but what impresses me even more is her commitment to opening doors for the next generation.”

According to the organization, Dunn’s role will include strategic advising, investor engagement, advocacy and helping expand the club’s youth-to-professional pathway and long-term facilities plan.

The announcement comes as investment and visibility in women’s sports continue to grow nationwide. TLH Reckoning said it hopes to establish Tallahassee as a destination for women’s soccer by expanding player development opportunities and creating additional economic activity tied to the sport.
